What’s up with all these deadly accidents on Lake Lanier in Georgia recently? The most recent being Kile Glover, Tameka Foster Raymond’s son. Obviously, Kile is the most publicized, since he’s Usher’s stepson, but there are more victims than him. On Sunday, July 1, 23 year-old Jember Hernandez drowned while swimming with family and friends. On Monday 21 year-old Sergio Edwards of Illinois was found unresponsive in the water beneath a water slide. He later died at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Nineteen-year-old Tomas Larumbe drowned when he was reported missing. Responders found his body an hour later. At almost the same time, a woman reported that her husband dove off their pontoon boat into the lake and never resurfaced. His body was never discovered. The summertime is the most popular time of the year for families to enjoy themselves by going to lakes and water parks. Please pay attention to all safety precautions and to your surroundings at all times.
Everyone has their favorite memory from the Michael Jackson Memorial. It was very classy, well organized, and an inspiration for African-Americans around the world. Stevie Wonder, Jermaine Jacksoon, Rev. Al Sharpton, Brooke Shields and Michael Jackson’s daughter, Paris were the most sincere and heartfelt. But it was Atlanta’s own Usher Raymond that stood out. Usher sort of fell off after his last CD didn’t do so well on the charts. Then recently he’s been going through a highly publicized divorce with wife, Tameka. So, I didn’t know what to expect from him. The performance started just as the performers before him, on stage singing. But when Usher walked down the stairs and toward the family I thought to myself, ‘this is going to be good’. Usher walked to the casket, placed one hand on it and sang to it as if he was singing to Michael Jackson himself. He couldn’t even finish the song without breaking down. As soon as he finished the last note, the Jackson family rushed to him and hugged him. It will be the moment I will always remember about the memorial of the Greatest Entertainer Ever!
I don’t know how true it is, but the street committee is reporting that Usher and his wife of almost two years have called it quits. Rumors have been floating around almost since the two said ‘I do’. Rumors about him cheating, his mom being fired as his manager, Tameka’s botched plastic surgery……… Who cares? I just want the old Usher back. You know the one from ‘You make Me Wanna’, ‘You Don’t Have To Call’’, and ‘Nice & Slow’ fame. That’s who I miss. Usher always came out with something innovative whenever he dropped a single. Remember how ‘Yeah’ changed the game ? I don’t know what Tameka did, but whatever it was, it threw Usher off of his game. I am not the biggest fan of Chili from TLC, but when they were together, Usher was dropping hit after hit. Usher pull it together and bless us with what the game’s been missing.
Tameka, Usher & Chili
